Long time coming
Feb. 18th, 2007 11:00 amThe summer after we got married, Husband went to the second hand shop around the corner from our house and bought a used sleeper sofa for $150.

We have had that sofa ever since. Twelve years, almost.
My mother has, at certain low points, actually refused to sit on this sofa.
It's legs have all fallen off.
There are metal parts sticking out of the arms, which we have covered with strong tape to protect the innocent. AG33 gets 2/3 of this couch. The cat has her basket on the other third.
Husband and I sit in two arm chairs. I have one we refer to as "The Allergy Chair" because Husband can't sit in it without having massive adverse reactions. It's actually in pretty good shape, though. It was my Granddad's.
Husband sits in this square pink arm chair box thing that we didn't even buy. We took it from the guff at the coop.

It has no springs and he sits on a pile of pillows and a crocheted afghan. No one can touch it, or the "cushions" will get all wrong and he gets cranky. It is so wide and blocky that it will not fit through most doors in most houses.
For years I have wanted one of those L-shaped couches for cuddling and napping and sitting together and all the other things that can be nice about a living room with people you love in it.
Well, check it out people. Hell has finally frozen over.
The day AG33 was out for snow a couple of weeks ago and Little Sister was out of school with her non-fever, we went sofa shopping, and took a bunch of pictures and measurements.
Last night, Husband got in the car with us and we went back over there and actually bought a sofa!

It is being delivered on Feb. 27. We will have to rearrange the living room for it to fit, I think, but we have agreed that it's the sofa for us.
I'm so excited!
