Well, sorta.

Way back in 1998, at the new job in Charlottesville, I blew out my knees. Sorta. I was doing a lot of work with the files, and sitting back on my heels, totally hyper-extending my knees, repeatedly for about 10 days. After that, squatting down was basically out, and has been for years.

Well, with the new baby, I've been tempted to do that type of move a lot more. Carrying a baby, and a diaper bag, adn something falls down, and you need to pick it up, and you kinda squat down and reach for it and scoop it up and get on your way.

And I was realizing today that I actually CAN do that again, like I used to be able to do.

I wonder if it was just time healing all wounds, or if it is because of the exercising, including the yoga, that focuses on doing lunges and squats correctly? Maybe I have strengthened the surrounding muscles enough to support the knee for limited abuse?

Anyway. Yay!

Hey!

I saw your fix it. But I can hardly bear to read it. I think I am in a mood at the moment and will have to come back to it when I can take the trauma. And yes, I realise it is a fix it, but still... :D

Well, it does mean remembering the angst... Quotes from actual readers:

THANK YOU for these!. I love Close to The Bone & To let His Kingdom Rise, but it's really painful to read Jack in there & makes me want to kick JD butt so hard (eventhough I love him too) OY! the dilemma...
These are like balm for that pain. Thank you again.

THANKYOUTHANKYOUTHANKYOUTHANKYOUTHANKYOU
*clings to you and sobs in gratitude*
In a bit of rash foolishness, I read "Bone" (stoooo-pid) and then "Kingdom" thinking it was a fix-it, maybe... Did I mention foolish? I was thinking 'dark' didn't necessarily preclude a happy ending or anything and- so, so stupid. This made the pain all better. Seriously.
You have made my, God, month? year?! *HUGS*

Very clever, and wow! Thanks. I feel so much better now! :)

And of course reading IV and V requires knowledge of Kingdom, which is the angst of Bone cubed!

Yay! Knees are scary items to be respected and feared. I'm really glad yours found a way to heal up!

I can't kneel with my full weight on my left knee, since I fell on it two years ago. It's getting better all the time, and I can kneel if I shift weight to the right knee, so it's better but not perfect. Knees can do some pretty scary, painful things! Just be careful not to overdo and get back where you started from.

You're morphing into Super Bellydancer Momma, aren't you? *reveres*

Also, was just poking around to find when we started on our genderfucks -- I'm working on mine again. So, I was trawling through your archives, and found: http://brainofck.livejournal.com/97758.html

Just to remind you it's there. :-)

God created the world in 6 Days, and on the 7th Day he was ready to rest, but remembered He wasn't quite finished. He created knees last, and God was tired.
