My trouble with my courier

muck_a_luckWell, I celebrated Fat Tuesday by indulging in a huge amount of swearing at the end of my business day.
We needed to file a Witness and Exhibit List in a case today. It was the day it was due. It was necessary for a trial.
So I did what I always do. I called the courier and they came and picked it up and took it over to the Court.
Only for some reason, the Court refused to take the document.
WTF?! I would have driven over there, except by the time we realized it was a problem, I couldn't have gotten there before the Court closed anyway. I have NO idea what happened. Did the courier service screw up and go to the wrong desk, and nobody could properly redirect him? Did they set up some new rule saying they wouldn't take deliveries from couriers? They've never had a problem with it before.
Eventually, they opened the envelope. THEN the story I got was that they refused to accept the documents because of lack of filing fee. Except there were two different documents it two separate unrelated cases, and the vital document, the witness list, did not require a filing fee. Why would they not accept that document?
I told the courier to get the name of the person they spoke to, the name of a supervisor, and a phone number.
This is on top of the fiasco last week. If I didn't have such a hideous case of pregnancy brain, I would not have used this courier at all. They are great, they have always done everything I asked, and usually very efficiently. But last week, there was some kind of screw up with a delivery, and The Boss actually *filed a police report* against one of their guys. Personally, I think the story was so bizarre about what happened, that I think the courier had absolutely nothing to do with it. The guy would have to have taken one important document out, substituted a new, difficult to fake document, and then delivered the fake document. Now, this is the kind of crime that a specialist could pull off easily, but this was just a randomly selected guy, with no hint of what he would be picking up. He didn't steal this item. The person who packed the envelope screwed up and blamed it on him.
Anyway, I cussed a lot. Hopefully got it out of my system for the Lenten season.
