muck_a_luckCaller ID reads 866-660-6940 (name) and 206-278-9157 (number).
This makes me very suspicious.
When I get suspicious of my Caller ID, my phone manner is v. frosty.
CK: Good morning, Law Offices of Boss
Mr. Caller (lots of chatter in background, clearly some kind of telemarketer): Hello! Is this the office of Boss, Esq.
CK (darkly): Yes, it is.
Mr. Caller (overly chipper): I'm calling from Experian! I am calling today to verify that the information we have in our database about your business is correct. Is the business name (proceeds to misspell Boss' name).
CK (even more darkly): Close enough.
Mr. Caller (laughs nervously): And is the address (proceeds to begin reeling off our old address from over three years ago.)
CK (cutting Mr. Caller off in annoyance): No, that's not our address. Your information is really old. What is the purpose of this call again?
Mr. Caller (recites): Experian is one of the world's foremost providers of information on businesses (bullshit, Experian is a credit reporting agency who can't find their ass with both hands). We are calling to verify the information in our database is correct. Are you located at (proceeds to try to recite our old address again).
CK (Cutting Mr. Caller off again): No, that's not our current address. And I'm not interested in discussing this with you over the phone. Please feel free to mail me whatever you want. And I have no interest in addressing your questions any further.
Mr. Caller: (says something that sounds slightly alarmed and desparate)
I hung up at this point with a smirk.
Hee, hee! I told him to send me something in the mail, just after telling him he didn't have my correct address!
*snerk*
I could not be feeling more evilly gleeful.
Does this make me a bad person?
