Yesterday, I smelled the smell.

cocoajava knows the smell I'm talking about.

The beach smell.

Though completely sans cocoa bugger. Hmmmm.

Anyway, not to be sidetracked.

Yesterday, I was at Crate and Barrel. This is a v. bad store, FYI, and it's pretty lucky that I don't have HUNDREDS of extra dollars to spend. Cause dude.

My sister-in-law is getting married next Saturday. We were wedding gift shopping. And the store smells like the beach smell I want. Some combination of clean, fresh, new household linens, the wood and wax on the floors, and the rattan in the baskets. That may really be it. The basket smell. Not only makes me think of the beach, but also of days in the attic weaving baskets.

Anyway, not to be sidetracked.

It smelled wonderful. I was just wandering around, following my nose, in olfactory heaven. Then, Small Boy said, in a quiet, but very disgusted voice, "What is that smell like cat poop."

Bhahaha. That last bit killed me! Didn't see it coming. Yay Small Boy!

Hmm. Try getting a wicker basket wet, and then analyze the smell. See if you like that. I'm just curious, mostly, to see if this added to the overall effect. Wet wicker gives off it's scent.

But mostly I wanna make you get your wicker wet to prove my Powah. :)

I used to make baskets. So it isn't THAT hard to get me to put one in water. However, have no baskets handy...
