Hometown giggles

We were watching The Lone Gunmen this afternoon.
They had a large portion of the story set in the town where I live.
The town where I live is a fine example of suburban sprawl. Bedroom community of Washington, DC. White, wealthy, just short of tony. Fine dining, excellent shopping, gourmet grocery stores, and low-rise (10-12 story) office and condo buildings in the "town center." Big box and nice older communities on wooded, suburban streets. Tech industry center. The kind of place you would move if you wanted to be able to commute to town but live in a nice place to have a family and raise your kids.
Heh.
In Chris Carter's world, this little piece of suburbia is a large overpass in the middle of a vast, flat, treeless wasteland, with one collapsing building by the side of the road. Oh. And also, an industrial junkyard.
Yup.
When Husband saw the caption with our town name on it, he nearly snorted his Gatorade out his nose. We could not stop giggling throughout the rest of the program. Whenver they came back to the overpass, we'd start sniggering all over again.
