So, woke up with massive headache that has not gone away.

Office computer would not reboot this morning. Looks like the harddrive has died. I'm hoping if I let it cool off (it was running overnight), I can boot it one last time and get the data off.

It has been months since I did a full backup.

Let this be a reminder to all of you.

Back up your data today!

The good news is, although losing all my docs would be annoying as hell, and it would probably take me a couple of days to reconstruct the billing software, I actually CAN reconstruct the billing from recent hard copy and I backed up the bookkeeping data to the other computer late last week, so this is not a disaster.

Major pain in the ass, but not a disaster.

If I can't get it to boot up, I am going to get bids from a couple of vendors for how much they would charge me to retrieve the data. I just expect it to be more money and trouble that it would really be worth.

Brain hurts. Hurts on a scale that I might go home. And this is *really* not the best day for that...
