I miss Rohith and Corey

muck_a_luckAm crabby as hell.
Blame not enough sleep this week (*is shamefaced* Stupid Dr. Jackson's Diary.) and this stupid f***ing weather.
Boss out of town and am taking this moment for a mid-day rant before returning to work like a good little worker bee.
I had a helper yesterday.
Let's see.
She filed in the back. But I could have told her to file in the front. Accept partial responsibility. But doesn't EVERYBODY know to file in the front? Trying not to take the Lord's name in vain...
One document I asked her to file is completely missing. I even checked the files of other clients with the same last name. I asked her about it. It was a very distinctive piece of paper. Trust me. One would remember it. She looked at me blankly, like I was from Mars. OK. I realize I am a little bit of a freak due to photographic memory. But please, Lord, help me! *deep breath*
Another document I asked her to file, of a client with last name starting SZ, was filed in the CLOSED FILE of client with last name starting with I. WTF?
She couldn't find a client file. Despite the fact that I told her exactly where it was and why she was having difficulty finding it. She had put the stack of that client's documents on top of the file cabinet and gone to the ladies'. I pulled the client file and put it on top of the documents so she could see the file, put the documents in it, and continue working. She comes back to me, hands me the stack of documents and says, "I still couldn't find that file." I am flabbergasted. The documents she is handing me were UNDER THE FILE!!!! I quite bitchily hand them back to her and say, very coldly, "I pulled the file and put it on top of your stack. What did you do with it?" She looks surprised and says, "OH! I wondered where that came from!"
She made a phone call for me to a vendor about a service. She got an answer that was the opposite of the one I got last year, and I was delighted. It was exactly what I wanted to hear. So I made a phone call this morning, to discover that in fact, the answer is exactly the same as the one I got last year, and she somehow understood the exact reverse.
Good God, woman!

selenehart, but THIS is the kind of material they are turning out down there?!
I am having a lot of trouble not blaming her for the lost pleading, that we turned the office upside down looking for yesterday. I think that is really my own fault. Or possibly Boss never gave it back to me signed. But v. suspicious that she did something with it while she had her head up her ass, and three months from now I will open an unrelated file in my bookkeeping drawer or something and find it.
