May. 9th, 2005 07:44 pmPost esepcially for Amanda, should she wade this deep into her friends page.
I miscarried my first pregnancy, too.
And my doctor told me, as perhaps yours has told you, that she expects every one of her patients to have at least one miscarriage. In addition, a shocking 60% or something of pregnancies end in miscarriage, though this number includes many pregnancies that abort before people know they're pregnant.
It was awful. We had told so many people, and mine happened while I was visiting my parents over Christmas. My mom and I shopped for maternity clothes patterns and fabrinc while I was bleeding (not aware yet that I was about to miscarry). My husband and I had to drive back to Michigan from North Carolina afterwards.
And it sounds like you might have done what I did. I didn't go to the hospital or the doctor or anything til it was all over.
I don't know where I was going with that, except to say that you're not the only one, and there are so many people who will be there for you if you ever need to talk or a shoulder to lean on...

I wish your friend peace and eventual bright thoughts, CK. I've not been in this position, but it's something that has touched so many I know. You're quite a woman to speak up like this.
And once you say
