Small Boy has 102 degree fever and will be throwing up soon.

Husband *must* work at home today.

See you tomorrow.

UPDATE: Fever has not gone down and is not responding well to Tylenol. On the up side, he hasn't really thrown up. We are going to the doctor in about 45 minutes. Hopefully they will give me the go-ahead to alternate Tylenol and Advil.

The poor thing has been limp and sleepy all day. He's been trying his best to be brave and has been sleeping alot.

Hey.

Just found the entry.

Hope the little guy is feeling better, and that you got him sorted out at the Docs.

Let me know how he's doing next time you pass.

*hugs to you both*

Love L

Not too bad

I had never so wished that a doctor would make a housecall as I did yesterday. The Small Boy had fallen asleep, and I went in to wake him up about 15 minutes before we needed to leave. He just started whimpering and crying and clinging to the bed. I felt awful trying to wake him up and drag him outside.

Then, as one might expect, by the time we got to the doctor, the Tylenol had brought his temperature down (though he *did* throw up at the check-out desk)! The doctor said "stomach flu" and we went back home. But it was worth the visit, because if The Small Boy continues to be very hot or to throw up constantly today we might have felt the need to go to the emergency room, which would have been expensive and stupid. Sometimes it's nice to just let the doctor reassure you.

The fever is still running, but lower this morning. We'll see how it goes as the day continues. He didn't wake up in the night needing to vomit. And this morning we seem to have "moved on" to diarrhea.

One thing marriage and motherhood have taught me, though. It's probably good that I didn't go into nursing.

Glad to Hear!!

Glad to hear he's feeling a little better. Keep forgetting that you have to pay for hospital treatment over there, which must be a nightmare at times as a parent.

And I hear you on the nursing thing! Tell you some other time about SM and the screwdriver!

I'm out for the rest of the day and evening, but will catch up with everything tommorrow.

*Hugs*

Even better news as the morning has progressed. No sign of nausea at all today. He's very chipper and the Tylenol is working it's magic. He's even eaten some banana and is working on half an everything bagel with cream cheese. So looks good for maybe just a 24-48 hour bug. *sigh of relief*

Now, if I can just manage not to catch it... I always catch it...

Glad to Hear!!

Ah, good to hear he's feeling better, poor little soul!

And it is sooooo inevitable that you catch it too! You know this is a fact!!

*moves out of the way of projectile vomiting!!*

Well, no projectile vomiting yet. But I imagine I'm still within the incubation period...
