Is it too much to ask?
Feb. 10th, 2004 09:20 amDammit! All I want to do is work a freakin' 40-hour week!
Is that too much to ask?
So this week looks fine weather-wise. The Small Boy should be in school full-time all week. Yay!
Well, this morning Fairfax Connector decided not to run any bus service between Reston and West Falls Church. The entire Tysons/Dulles corridor is completely without bus service.
Bastards! Bastards! Bastards!
Husband assumed the 5:30 bus had been early, and that probably the 6am bus had some sort of mechanical problem. He gave up after waiting nearly an hour for a bus and came in to check the Connector website. The site said "Major Delays." Liars! Yeah, no bus service is likely to cause "major delays!"
So, got The Small Boy up early, drove The Husband to West Falls (and belive me, there's no better way to meet fools in traffic than to drive all over Fairfax County at rush hour), then drove back to Reston to drop The Small Boy off at school.
Small blessings - the door alarm on the car was behaving itself, so we didn't have to listen to constant dinging in the stop-and-go traffic. Also, for some reason traffic was very light today everywhere I went. So it was rush hour, but not too painful, as rush hour can go.
Of course, The Husband has no way to get back to Reston this afternoon, so leaving work early, too.
2.5 hours lost today on stupid bus issues.
Dammit.
