The Husband got Firefly the other day. Josh Whedon's "space western."
Can't recommend it enough. One of the best shows I've ever seen on TV. Well written, well acted, well produced.
Why exactly didn't this show work? Why couldn't it have been promoted to attract an audience? It's a shame that something like this gets 11 episodes on the air (plus 3 never shown), while Ethnic Mis-match comedy #142 runs for season after season.
Oh, well. It's just TV, after all...

Date: 2004-02-08 11:29 pm (UTC)I also loved "The Lone Gunmen". Thought it was one of the funniest things I had ever seen, and could not beleive it was axed after so few episodes. Also waiting for that on DVD.
And have you had a good weekend?
Not been around a lot today, catching up with stuff around the house. My Alan Lee prints are now hanging on the walls in their new frames, and look great.
Ooh, and went shopping on Friday, and got into a size smaller jeans than I have been wearing! So happy, even the girl on the checkout got to know whay I was smiling!!
After that, I met my friend Jen in Starbucks (second home!!), and got all clued up with what has been happening in her love life. She is 40, divorced with a young son, and her tales of trying to find a nice, decent man are an absolute howl. I told her that I never saw the need to watch soap operas when I could have coffee once a week with her instead. At one point, out hysterics grew so loud, the whole place was staring at us!
Anyway, will catch up more tomorrow.
Hugs

Date: 2004-02-11 01:58 am (UTC)Poor Jen! Having been married nearly 9 years, I think that if I were a free agent again, might never worry about finding a new guy. Save a lot of grief trying to find a decent one!
