Sensory overload

muck_a_luckThe snow finally arrived. 4 inches, not 10, but snow, nonetheless.
Took The Small Boy to work. Between being Mommy, and answering phones, and a really long technical support call with our ISP, I was already on the edge. On top of that, I had four people pinging me on IM over the course of the day. By the time we got in the car to leave, I was so sound sensitive I just wanted to scream at everyone to shut up.
Which is pretty unfair to The Small Boy, who, while a bit too loud for the office, was in good spirits all day and may not have whined more than once!
Took Chris and Mike's present over to them, and The Small Boy got the mini tour. We rode in the glass elevator up to the ninth floor, then went down and crossed the Bridge Over the Perilous Peril. The Small Boy's operative word was "Cool!" and as usual, he was charming everyone in sight.
So filial duty discharged and now home grilling in the snow.

Also, about to sign up for AIM, much to SM's horror. He is just shaking his head, and mumbling "don't come running to me when your machine crashes"!! The words of Doom!!!!

Date: 2004-01-27 06:23 pm (UTC)My cousin works for Gannett Publishing, a huge newspaper and magazine publisher whose headquarters is 5 minutes from my office. The Small Boy and I went over there and Small Boy got the tour. They have a very dramatic lobby and on the second floor there is a weird, artistic walkway that hangs over the abyss of the lobby 25-30 feet below. It's not something to walk over if you're afraid of heights. Chris likes to chirp "What is your favorite color?" as he steps onto it. :)
