Random thoughts on Saturday morning
Jan. 24th, 2004 08:32 amActually got to the point this week with the website that there wasn't anything I felt like working on yesterday. (There's still more to do, just didn't feel any need to it.) I did submit a couple of pages to the free part of the Yahoo search engine and also submitted the entire site to AllTheWeb. Since regular updating of the site makes it more interesting to crawlers, anyway, my now start trying to add real content once a week.
Have done quite a bit to tie up loose ends at work this week. This was one of my resolutions at the new year, as a lot of things caught me off guard in December. There's more still to do, but when I left the office Friday, felt pleased with recent progress.
Monday, of course, will be a big mess because The Small Boy will be out for a couple of teacher workdays. The plumber is coming "in the late morning" to fix our shower. But he also said he might not come at all if we get snow on Sunday night. Then he said if there was no snow, he might be here much earlier. I related this conversation to The Husband, who suggested he might have been drunk on the phone (The Husband tipping his hat to Mom, of course). Anyway, will take the phones here on Monday and try to get work done. Since I am home anyway, will probably not pay extra to send him to day care. Rather, once the plumber is done, we'll just go to work together. However, want to check with Chris about meeting him to give him Mom and Dad's gift. Hopefully can do that with The Small Boy in tow on Monday and have a little visit... But expecting Monday to be a big pain and probably will have to take some "vacation" time for no relaxation whatsoever.
Have been watching the new season of "Monk." V. funny.
At the end last night there were a couple of notable commercials. The first one showed dirty, but v. hunky, guys working on an oil rig. The voice-over said something like "31 days in the gulf in the broiling heat..." blah, blah, blah. And the guys head for the showers. V. nice. So I'm wondering what's the ad for - shampoo? razors? athlete's foot medicine (eww)? Nope. TILEX! *snortle* Whoo hoo! I think they should do a series of these commercials to advertise cleaning products and show them when I'm watching TV! :)
THEN, in the next commercial they show this cute guy, looking kinda rumpled, in t-shirt and shorts, like he just got up. And he's walking very stiffly and awkwardly, like maybe he's hurt himself. Again, I'm trying to figure out what the ad is supposed to be for. Then they show his leg and say that it is part 1745. Oh, a Lever 2000 commercial. Then they show that there is a small child attached to his leg! Oh man! I was rolling! Yup, that's exactly what the walk looks like! *snortle*
Also, in slashy news, Another Chance and Beyond the Far Horizon both updated yesterday!
