The Small Boy Goes to the Movies
Jan. 17th, 2004 05:43 pmWell, the wintry mix has just arrived. We were driving around this afternoon and the clouds looked like they were ready to dump piles of snow on us. On the plus side, the temperature seems to be rising!
Last Sunday, took The Small Boy to see Return of the King. I was a little worried that he would not be able to sit through it, as at home he has begun to lose interest at the change of the disk... But we had a great time and he loved it.
When we arrived, there was only one other person in the theater (we were a bit early). We picked out our seats and dumped our coats in the next one. I mentioned to him that we would move our coats if it got very crowded. But then I said I suspected that it wasn't going to be a problem because I didn't expect the theater to fill up. He said, "Of course it will be crowed, because everybody loves Return of the King!"
Not much more to report about our viewing. However, I wish I had noticed the 3 teenage fangirls behind us sooner. At the very end, they were just cooing over Legolas' arrival at Frodo's bedside. Then they just shrieked when Aragorn kissed Arwen at the coronation. I bet they were hilarious the whole time and I just didn't notice them...

It's Me!!! Again!!
Date: 2004-01-17 06:07 pm (UTC)How many times have you seen ROTK then? I suppose I would have seen it a few more times than I have (two) if the cinema was closer. I'm glad the Small Boy enjoyed it too.
Didn't have any fan girls at the last showing we went to, but did have one guy sitting behind me who was sobbing at the end. I felt like turning round and ofering him one of my hankies! Poor guy.
