Overheard

Walking out by the elevators, there was an older gentleman chatting with someone on his cellphone. It sounded like a very serious conversation. I heard him say,

About personal security, you know for $8000.00 you can make your Honda Civic into a car you can sit in a dark parking lot in late at night and no one will be able to get to you, whether they try to shoot their way in or use a sledgehammer...

At which point I had moved out of earshot.

Who does he know riding around in a Honda Civic who needs this kind of protection? Drug dealers? Private detective?

Bad advertising choice

PayPal has a slogan, "The world's most loved way to pay and get paid."

And they have it over an ad of a couple kissing on a night time city street.

I feel this is *supposed* to emphasize how much I love PayPal. So much, I want to French kiss it.

But instead, I see the emphasis on "get paid." And that is not good in the context of the action you are getting paid for being a big face suck on the side of the road somewhere... *eyes advertising campaign*
