Productive Saturday
Dec. 11th, 2010 03:05 pmYesterday, I almost gave myself a heart attack when I saw one of my highschool friends mentioning on FaceBook that on her birthday she went to the DMV and RENEWED HER LICENSE!!!1111!!!!!!!1!
They sent me the darned reminder for it back in August, and I stuck it somehwere and totally forgot about it. If I had forgotten til after my birthday, I would have had to gather up proof of citizenship. Oi. Glad I didn't forget! So I went over there this morning with The Barbarian, got a new photo done, turned in the renewal, they invalidadted my current license and gave me a temporary one til my new super-ID comes in the mail in 7-10 days. Actually, it couldn't have gone better. We got there just as they were opening, and were were done in less than an hour. The Barbarian was a good companion for waiting in line. It didn't even delay our usual schedule of errands!
I have started cleaning The Barbarian's room, one of my weekend goals, and the laundry is moving along and the kitchen is getting cleaner, and I got in a workout this morning so it is shaping up (haha!) to be an excellent Saturday. Boring, I guess, but excellent.
OH! And we accidentally went to the libarary's open house, so The Barbarian got a cool balloon frog made for her, and had some holiday punch and cookies and there was a little celtic group there playing seasonal music live. Very charming. Totally unexpected.
Off to wash some dishes so The Barbarian can have my seat for her restaurant game.
