I have complained before about callers who want to talk with the lawyer but don't want to give me any information about themselves.
I had a person call from a Hyatt Legal Plans referral. I get to bill Hyatt for consultations. This woman called asking to talk to a family law attorney. I said great! He's here but with a client. Let me get some information from you and I'll have him call you back.
She said what information. I said "Basic demographic information for purposes of billing Hyatt."
She said, "I don't see why you need that information if he is not going to call me back."
Huh?
I very nicely, not at all snarkily, said she should definitely feel free to talk to Hyatt about whether my questions were appropriate, and after calling around, if she still needed us, she could call back.
The question where she balked?
"Could I get your name?"
*shakes head in amazement*
