I am bored. Bored, bored, bored.
On the subject of scones: Tried Delia Smith's scones last night. (Thanks again to Uisgich for going to the trouble to find and send the recipe.) One presumes, as the recipe is from Ms. Smith, they are authentic. Authentic scones somewhere between a big fluffy biscuit and the sweet, lemony, Americanized scones I make. Closer to a biscuit. Husband unhappy with them because they are "still" too biscuit-like in texture. I'm unhappy with them because they taste like sweet biscuits and there's nothing I hate worse than a sweet biscuit. Biscuits supposed to be salty/tangy. So it seems we have utterly rejected authentic scones.
In other news:
We were betrayed by Minerva. The last round of take-out was so incredibly, friggin' hot we will be scared to ever order from there again. Miss Maharaja. And just because I'm thinking of food - miss Sweetbones. And generally miss Charlottesville. *sniffs*
Blah.
