The Five Hundredth Post
Jun. 25th, 2004 06:49 amSo, seven months and eight days later, post 500.
First, I wanted to do something celebratory.
Then, I thought, the heck with that and was going to post something v. blah, blah, blah.
Then LiveJournal was acting up all day yesterday and I couldn't access the site.
So we're back to something celebratory.
The Small Boy and I have been reading Where the Sidewalk Ends, by Shel Silverstein. Which makes me think of being a kid. Which also makes me thing of Grandma R. So a few selections.
Early Bird
Oh, if you are a bird, be an early bird
And catch the worm for your breakfast plate.
If you're a bird, be an early bird--
But if you're a worm, sleep late.
I'm Making a List
I'm Making a list of the things I must say for politeness,
And goodness and kindness and gentleness, sweetness and rightness:
Hello
Pardon me
How are you?
Excuse me
Bless you
May I?
Thank You
Goodbye
If you know some that I've forgot, please stick them in your eye!
Hug O' War
I will not play at tug o' war.
I'd rather play at hug o' war.
Where everyone hugs
Instead of tugs,
Where everyone giggles
And rolls on the rug.
Where everyone kisses,
And everyone grins,
And everyone cuddles,
And everyone wins.
The Edge of the World
Columbus said the world is round?
Don't you believe a word of that.
For I've been down to the edge of the world.
Sat on the edge where the wild wind whirled,
Peeked over the edge where the blue smoke curls,
And I can tell you, boys and girls,
The world is FLAT!
And to celebrate Number Five Hundred, I am going to re-read Drinking Games and The Orange Grove. I suggest you do, too!
Finally, I would like to thank LiveJournal for my new virtual friends, and particularly for
uisgich, who, if I'm honest with myself, is probably my *real* girlcrush! *snortle* And there you go! I have proved the SM complete correct. *giggle* Sorta. *more giggles*
I love everybody!

Date: 2004-06-25 11:26 pm (UTC)I don't think I've been anyone's girlcrush before! I knew going back to being blonde was a good idea :)
Ah no, to prove him right you would have to be a trucker pretending to be blah, blah, blah!
Loves you madly :)
