Had a little oral surgery today. Since June (? I can't remember actually), I have had an annoyed taste bud. Yes, that is the highly technical term for it. It actually hasn't been hurting me at all, which is why I kept noticing it when I brushed my teeth in the evening, thinking, huh, I should probably have that looked at, then forgot until the next evening.
Finally went to the dentist for getting my teeth cleaned and he sent me to the oral surgeon.
So, today, I got that sucker removed. Worst part, getting stabbed in the tongue with the Novocaine needle. The surgery itself was more of a five minute procedure. Local anesthetic only. But when it wore off, wowza. Very unpleasant. The tissue is being sent for analysis, though nobody seems concerned that it will be anything bad.
So now I have two stitches in my tongue and I am freakin' exhausted. Between all the crying yesterday and the ongoing pain this evening, I have told the family I'm crawling into bed when dinner hits the table.
