Y'all're seriously pissing me off

OK. My biggest, stupidest pet peeve EVER.

It's contracted version of "you all." The apostrophe represents the missing "ou" in you. Which leads us to the correct spelling/punctuation - y'all.

Not ya'll.

Spell it wrong and you look like either 1) a poser or 2) a refugee from a third world education system. So either 1) you are seriously pissing me off, quit it or 2) you are making us all look bad (and thereby seriously pissing me off), go crawl back under your rock.

Damn it to Hell, people, get it right.

And now, back to your regularly scheduled insanity.

*rubs* I've pretty much given up on this particular regional contractional spelling. Most southerners don't even know how to spell it! And I remember a conversation where a woman, who I believe was NOT a born'n'bred southerner, being quite adamant about spelling it "ya'll". Something to do with the fact that it couldn't be a contraction when the second word was there in its entirity or something. *shrugs* It got to the point where I wasn't happy spelling it either way, though I will always believe the true spelling to be y'all. And given my high school (in Bama), I think I may just be a refugee from a third world education system. o_O However, I absolutely LOVE dictionary.com; check out their entry for y'all.
