seleneheart's comments here, I went to look at the actual content of the bill, and found this hilarious quote in the NYT.
Yes. Because everyone in the universe noticing that a bill is STUPID is some kind of "ploy."
Politicians make me LOL IRL. I can't believe that when I was 20-something, I thought the concept of being a political actor was AWESOME. (In my own defense, I always wanted to be Secretary of State, but that would only expose me to the politics of multiple countries in addition to the stupidity of homegrown American politics.) Shows that even incredibly smart children can still be ignorant in the ways of real life.
