That was freakin' terrifying.
The quake started as a vibration. I thought someone dropped something in the suite next door where they are doing construction. Then it went on longer, and I said, "What the CRAP is that?" Then the building started to sway. That's when I freaked out and hid under a desk.
It lasted about 10 seconds. After that, I had the serious feeling of being in a cement box, and I left the office.
AG33 was at home alone. He thought the upstairs ceiling was falling in again. He said, "It sounded like a bunch of people were running around in my room" (he was in the kitchen, directly under his room). Then the dishes started shaking the cabinets and he got the Hell out of Dodge.
Husband's commute seems to have been disrupted, as he is not home yet. The Barbarian was playing outside, according to the day care director. The kids felt it. Will be interesting to find out what she thinks, though I have not gone to pick her up yet.
Still feeling a little shaky from it. Probably not great to have the adrenaline surge that comes with thinking you are about to die late in the second day of a two-day fast. Not sure how well my body processed the rush...
