Remember the Norfolk Island Pine that The Barbarian and I went out and bought 2 winters ago on Christmas Eve during one of the big snows? Well, it has been growing like crazy and had way outgrown its pot, so we got a HUGE pot this weekend and transplanted it. I understand these trees hate beeing repotted, so hopefully no horrible repercussions.
Our old kitty is really showing her age. Her coat looks bad, which may be partially hormonal, and she walks a little creakily now. I've been worried for a little while now ( Cat TMI ) srsly. Now, my friend Jules has been after me about the importance of her fluid intake for a while now, and I have finally decided it is time to take action. So last week, I made her some homemade food - half tuna half chicken thigh, and very soupy. She LOVED it. And I swear, even after just one week, her fur looks better, and she has been VERY feisty this week. My imagination, or the instant impact of more liquid in her diet?
So this weekend, I went out to look for an old cat's dietary supplement, and I'm doing more research on how to make my own food. For one think, apparently too much tuna is actually not a good idea. She is not as enthusiastic about this week's recipe of chicken thighs and chicken livers, with added carrots and broccoli, even when I add in some canned salmon. This morning I actually put her dry food away in an attempt to get her to give the new food blend a chance.
I think I may still need to add some Vitamin A, Vitamin E and possibly some bone meal to the blend. Anyway, adeventures in cat food.
I have not killed the tomato plants. They seem to be doing well.
I tried Portal a couple of weekends ago. AWESOME game. I'm in the final duel with the evil computer as of this morning. AG33 is a great teammate. Between us, I have been finding this game to be just the right amount of challenge without too much frustration. I did cheat in Test Chamber 18, though, I admit. I do wonder if I would have had to cheat if AG33 had been there when I was playing, though. I don't think of it as cheating when he solves or helps solve a problem. That's just me enjoying the fruits of my DNA! :D Portal 2 has just arrived in the mail, but I can't start it til I get my second SOS piece final and get back on track with my morning yoga. I have been neglecting both yoga AND writing in favor of playing. Bad me.
