Miraculous recovery
Jan. 19th, 2007 10:30 amWell, sorta.
Way back in 1998, at the new job in Charlottesville, I blew out my knees. Sorta. I was doing a lot of work with the files, and sitting back on my heels, totally hyper-extending my knees, repeatedly for about 10 days. After that, squatting down was basically out, and has been for years.
Well, with the new baby, I've been tempted to do that type of move a lot more. Carrying a baby, and a diaper bag, adn something falls down, and you need to pick it up, and you kinda squat down and reach for it and scoop it up and get on your way.
And I was realizing today that I actually CAN do that again, like I used to be able to do.
I wonder if it was just time healing all wounds, or if it is because of the exercising, including the yoga, that focuses on doing lunges and squats correctly? Maybe I have strengthened the surrounding muscles enough to support the knee for limited abuse?
Anyway. Yay!
