It has been an exciting week or so.
First, my parents paid us a surprise visit last weekend. It was great, though very brief. They brought Christmas presents! Including, OMG, a huge set of AllClad stainless cookware! I *love* it. :)
Last weekend, Small Boy also got almost all of his birthday presents. In the end he received, from us, seven differents sets from the Knights' Kingdom. Oops. He identified that he had received seven gifts and wanted to know if it was seven gifts to match his number of years. Noooooooo. I assured him that it was a coincidence. Very much a conincidence. Not to be expected next year!!!
Then, today, we decided it was finally time to break down and actually replace the dining room chairs my parents reclaimed back in *November!!!* So I went to my new favorite store, World Market, and got two chairs from the Cortese dining set. Husband has gotten a wild hair that we can fix up this apartement to actually accomodate the table, two more chairs, and possibly a bench. I'm intrigued, but not totally convinced we can make it work. But He thinks it is the perfect 10th anniversary gift and he says he's going to figure out how we can work it and if he does, it will be the perfect gift. I'm thrilled that we are even thinking about it seriously.
And, we also got the Lego Millenium Falcon. $103 and change, 985 pieces. He did it all himself in approximately 7 hours. We have put him on notice that there will be *no more* presents of any kind until Christmas. But we are completely bad, spoiling parents. But it's so fun! And it's awesome!
And in bad parent news, he was back there, building his giant lego project, quiet as a little mouse, and I was taking out trash, and cleaning cat litter, and washing dishes, and doing laundry, and folding laundry, and putting laundry away, and measuring furniture, and peering at the stereo problem... And at 8:43 I looked up and was like, "OMG! I have a child!" But as it turned out, we let him stay up to finish the thing, so he went to bed at about 10:30.
All in all, an interesting a good week. More in a locked down post to follow.
