My son can tell you what simile is.

Because on PBS Kids Between the Shows, they have a segement on Simile, which he has memorized.

Except he says, "Symbol-y," but that just adds to the cuteness.

Anyway, imagine the following, said in full superhero announcer voice (It's a bird! It's a plane!)

It's fast as a speeding bullet!
It's powerful like a locomotive!
It uses like or as to compare two things!
It's cool as a cucumber!
Cute as a button!
It's words! It's a phrase! It's SIMILE!

So, [livejournal.com profile] lamath transcribed the recent Vogue article on Sean Bean, from which I take this quote.

"Grannies, meanwhile, swooned over the dashing figure of Major Richard Sharpe in the mid-nineties TV series, Sharpe."

Hey! Am not a grannie! So this chick likes Mellors best. Yeah, fine! But she doesn't get out much if she thinks only grannies have a thing for Sharpe!

Hey!

The artcile as posted on Compleat Sean Bean.

UPDATE: "I remember sending Melanie Griffith's agent a photo of him because they had no idea who he was and soon after getting this slightly hysterical call from Melanie saying, 'I wanna make a movie with this guy!'" [CK-*snortle*]
