Fran is rushing around, and trying to apply lipstick. Her cellphone rings.

Fran [yelling]: Bugger! BUGGER!

Fran: [into phone, increasingly angry] Yep, I'm coming, yep, yep, I'm coming, yeah, I know, I'm coming, all right?! [hangs up and yells at phone] Pain in the arse!!.

Manny: Where are you off to?

Fran: [calmly] I'm going to Yoga.

Back from NC

I'm not up for endurance driving like I used to be. 820-something miles this weekend, plus I was a passenger for another couple of hours on Saturday when Mom drove us down to York.

The coolest thing I saw this weekend. Sun Tubes. And it was hilarious, Uncle Paul and I had teh exact same reaction. When we went into the bathrooms at night, we wondered why that awesome light had gone off! But we were both too tired to figure out where the switch was to turn them back on again. (My parents have very complicated light switches. Paul and I were challenged by their lighting.)

While the drive was really, really long, it was also gorgeous. I held up the phone and pointed it out the window and clicked some random shots. Got some of the hood of the car and some of the bird poop on the window, but caught two good ones of the redbuds, which are wild in Virginia, and seem to grow particularly well on teh steep slopes (which makes me think maybe the DOT has something to do with their success near the highway).

Uncle Paul says, "And Al Jazeera is all... [insert non-PC imitation of Al Jazeera here i.e. screachy LALALALALA and figers pointing all around]

CK intones in best news-caster voice, "Cowboys Stadium collapsed this morning. Al Quaeda in Yemen immediately claimed credit..."

AG33 snickers uncontrollably.

It's great to spend time with family.

*wipes tiny tear*
