My day, thus far

*looks around sadly*

Ain't nobody doin' nothin'. Boss not even on IM to thank for bonus.

Well, after sleeping in this morning, I got up resigned to missing my workout for the second time in three days. But I needed sleep people. Seriously.

Well, then Small Boy got invited to The Pumpkin Patch by his fiance. And poor sicky Husband went for nap. So suddenly, here I was, all alone in the living room, with a step, a sticky mat, 10 pound weights and new yoga discs. Oops.

Did step first, like a good little girl. Then tried out my easy yoga disc - Candlelight Yoga. I got it because I wanted an easy one and because Sarah Ivanhoe is the instructor on it and she's excellent. It's more or less a repeat of the "For Dummies" routine, but modified specifically for relaxation, and with much better music and a class of cuties. And none of the annoying for dummies tips, etc. It was *very* relaxing. Now feel all happy and floaty and just, well, I dunno, melty or something.

Anyway, I *am* paying for the Rodney Lee tape today, in case anyone was wondering. Damn, it hit me hard in the abs, and who would have thought, as I have been doing abs nearly every day. Different moves and different muscles, I suppose. Otherwise, not too bad, except I may have stressed something in my right groin area. Am a bit tender there and right leg is like, hey, quit it, whenever I put much stress on it. Still, step wasn't a problem, and I am hoping that the easy yoga was good, not bad, for it. I was very careful not to try to be too stretchy there.

Cool thing I hadn't realized about the Candlelight Yoga disc. It has a 15 minute "energizing" routine. Am thinking I might use it like I use my abs tape. I have been doing a 15 minute advance abs routine before the yoga. Now I might do the 15 minute yoga routine after the step.

I said this to Uisgich already, but I am totally lost on this yoga thing. The flexibility and balance stuff is great, but what I have really, really been enjoying are the sun salutations. I don't know enought about yoga to know exactly what is "supposed" to be in a sun salutation. The fusion tape had a couple of variations, of which Viggo's routine in the first chapter of Double Lotus is one. Rodney Yee does a couple of variations, as well. But they are awesome. I love the flow and alternation of the poses, the challenge of the lunges. Yes, I am still faking Plank - my arms are pathetically weak - but when I get all the way through and come back to Mountain Pose then start the whole thing over again, there's something soothing and cyclical about it, despite the amount of physical effort it is still taking to do it.

I dunno. It feels amazing. And I realize I am not the first person to notice this, but still. *shrugs*

Now, as nobody on line to chat with, or even pester, I am going to finish Chatterly, which is due tomorrow. If Husband doesn't wake up soon - or maybe even if he does - will move on to finishing Brokeback Mountain so that I can THEN move onto my harlequin of horror and read that damn Incubus Dreams before it is due in two weeks.

Hey! Glad you are still alive and kicking. What a horrible experience. You don't sound so hot even now. I'll say a few prayers, and bless that daughter of yours, too. All my love and I hope you feel better soon, though I suppose what we have to be rooting for is bit by bit. *worries*
