Quiet weekend
Jan. 15th, 2006 04:54 pmYesterday, weird, weird weather.
Friday night I was awakened by the loudest, longest crash and boom of thunder I have ever heard, or at least the loudest since Michigan. Storms almost never wake me up. The storm went on awhile. Plus, being pregnant has been giving me very vivid dreams, so the combination had me sleeping very uneasily Friday night, and I woke up from a really horrible nightmare, which also never happens to me.
Then Saturday morning, when Small Boy and I went to the grocery store, it was sixty degrees, cloudy and I'd bet the wind was gusting 40-45 miles per hour. It was gorgeous, and as we went about our errands, it started a smattering of rain, that the wind was picking up and blowng around like crazy.
We were out for about two hours and the temperature steadily dropped. Later in the day, we went out to pick up some pizza for dinner and when we walked out the front door the smattering rain had turned to a wet, wet snow. Blowing like crazy everywhere. It didn't stick, the weather hasn't been cold enough, but it was neat and freaky.
Today, the Steelers and the Colts... Husband and I have been joking about whether we are now worth more dead or alive, since we actually got life insurance. After the game, Husband, who was rooting for the Steelers, said, "If that had been the Dolphins playing, you probably collected your money!"
